Palmetto Medicaid Eligibility Consulting, LLC (PalmettoMEC) specializes in guidance to individuals needing nursing home, residential or in-home healthcare who wish to apply for financial assistance with the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. PalmettoMEC helps applicants and their families throughout the application process, by conducting information-gathering, and by clarifying policies and procedures for long-term care programs. Our specialists have combined Medicaid eligibility, policy, and case management experience of nearly 25 years.
We assist applicants or authorized representatives in knowing how to manage assets advantageously for themselves and their loved ones. We ensure that Medicaid requirements are met and work closely with our clients to ensure that necessary actions are taken to secure a Medicaid approval decision. Our Founder
PalmettoMEC's principal, P. Andre Pinson, worked in South Carolina state government for more than 34 years; the majority spent at the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS), the state's Medicaid agency. Andre holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of South Carolina (Columbia, SC), and a Master of Business Administration degree from Winthrop University (Rock Hill, SC).
Andre is a subject-matter expert in long-term care Medicaid eligibility, policy, enrollment and member services. His experience includes managing cases and advising applicants and their authorized representatives of Medicaid long-term care programs. During his time at SCDHHS, Andre helped many individuals qualify for and remain eligible for Medicaid. Additionally, Andre provided guidance and assistance to various entities such as elder-law attorneys, medical professionals, and other healthcare and community organizations. Now, Andre is eager for PalmettoMEC to help our applicants tackle the often exhausting Medicaid application process.
